Of course, what can we think about on Valentine’s Day ? Looove!! It’s about love! And, the matter is that I’ve been wondering for a long time about who is inspiring my favourite designers, who is their love partners, people behind their backs??? And Valentine’s Day is actually a perfect occasion to find out.
With the Fashion Week going on in New York now and seeing so many fabulous looks and a lot of them in sandals, with naked ankles or very light jackets….all this situation made me sooo cold! looking stylish is really important…but getting sick is not really an option! So when seeing such looks I try to think that it was just 5 minutes trip from taxi to the target place. I would enjoy my everyday winter outfit like this:
Featuring Alexander Wang backpack, Sorel boots, People Tree turtleneck, Four Seasons Basic Parka and skinny Citizens of Humanity jeans. Warm, comfy and looks good:) What is your usual winter outfit???
“Feminine with a (cowboy) twist!” as she describes her style, Nasiba Adilova successfully manages to balance between Moscow and Texas.
How different was Dior in the times of John Galliano. It was pure art!!!! Galliano is truly an extraordinary person and his every collection was like a performance with a story behind it. Even after the anti-Semitic scandal I still love John as designer. He and Alexander McQueen are my true fashion geniuses.
And with the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Week (especially after what Raf Simons created for Dior this time) the first thing I realised is that now the House of Dior is definitely less dramatic and theatrical and it seems that Raf is not creating anything new but interpreting old Dior’s collections. Much more I enjoyed Bill Gaytten’s work for Dior. But honestly, oh God, I miss Galliano’s creativity!!!
And….10 years ago in mid January Galliano presented his Haute Couture S/S 2004 collection for Dior. Truly breathtaking collection inspired by ancient Egyptian culture. There are a lot of corsets, golden colour, crazy make-up! This is what I want to see in Haute Couture collections: crazy/dramatic/jaw-dropping/uuuunforgettable!!! Love love love!!!
