Shirt dress is much more versatile than you think. Maxi, midi or mini; different fabrics;different silhouettes. I’m actually going to assume that it is possible to find a shirt dress for any event you can possible imagine (yes, even red carpet event). Shirt dresses are loved by bloggers and celebrities. And…I have to confess: I got so inspired by Miranda’s maxi shirt dress, so I’m sketching something similar for myself and rushing to fabric market:)
If you still didn’t find your perfect shirt dress, take a look at these ideas and get some inspiration!
I should say that summer like no other season is associated with maxi dresses, at least I do so. Mostly people want to put on as less clothes as possible (especially when the temperature hits 40C), I like to keep things differently and find other ways to dress rather than shorts, summer sun dresses and short skirts. Maxi dresses are truly great for so many occasions and places: weekend countryside getaways, evening beach walks, brunches with friends, shopping marathons. What can I say, maxi dresses are great!:) And here is my mini guide to maxi dresses.
Just imagine…it’s crispy and sunny August morning in Paris. It’s funny, I’ve never been there but it’s just enough to close my eyes and I see this city. Sitting in a small cafe, drinking coffee, eating fresh croissant and reading Vogue Paris. Do not hurry anywhere, do not worry about anything, but get fully soaked in a perfect moment….And crop top, light blue cigarette cut pants, Charlotte Olympia clutch and ankle wrap wedge espadrilles seem like a perfect outfit for such a day. Easy, laid-back with a hint of Parisian romanticism!!!
Aurora Sansone is so different: she is boyish and romantic, bold and feminine, sophisticated and simple. She is a fashion editor, stylist and truly Italian beauty. Aurora works in Vogue Nippon and often seen with Anna Dello Russo. It is a pity Anna always steals the show as Aurora has a great style and she can pull together unbelievable outfits. She likes flats and romantic vintage-ish dresses but at the same time Aurora has a note of masculinity in her outfits. Personally I got inspired by Aurora’s maxi dress/sandals looks for this summer.
Continuing the Spring topic fever….I really like to add vintage vibe to my outfits. i like vintage and vintage inspired clothes. They have a great ability to change the mood of the whole outfit. I bought this vintage dress in one of my favourite vintage stores in Bangkok “Again&Again” and I’m in love with it since. I can pair it with hight heels and shoulder bags, wedges and totes, sneakers and leather backpacks and this dress still looks “appropriate”. This time I completed the look with Coach bag and EQ:IQ wedges. If you are ever in Bangkok, go to Room B1a, Market Place Thonglor 4, Sukhumvit 55
XOXO from Shanghai!
